Corruption Tori an anti-corruption TV programme in Nigerian local languages, supported by the MacArthur Foundation has honoured three anti-corruption Ambassadors in Kano.

Two police officers and a civilian were recognized for their exemplary and commendable anti-corruption conduct in the course of carrying out their official duties.

While Sgt Kabiru Isah deployed to the Kano State Traffic Agency received an award for returning the sum of One Million Naira found at an accident scene in Kano, Insp. Garba Rabo and Jamilu Bihari, both of the Kano State Consumer Protection Agency got awards for rejecting a One Million Naira bribe offered by marketers of harmful expired products.

The event is part of production activities for Corruption Tori Season 2, which commences on July 4, 2021. Corruption Tori Season 1, ran for two years from January 2019 to December 2021.

Speaking at the event which took place at the Kano State Police Command Headquarters, Kano State Police Commissioner, Shu’aib Dikko praised the MacArthur Foundation for its continued investment and support for the anti-corruption war in Nigeria, while commending Signature TV, producers of Corruption Tori for sparing no resources in identifying and locating the officers for recognition.

The Commissioner said that awards such as this by Corruption Tori will not only spur the officers to do more but it will encourage many other officers to tow the anti-corruption path.
